Warwick Castle

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Warwick Castle, said to be Britains Ultimate Castle. It was by far the coolest place we have been to. We really had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it.

this is the outside looking at the front entrance
AWESOME

this is the fist piece that was built in 1070 and is still standing!

Sword in the stone

there were some fun shows the castle put on and one was a bird show, they also gave a lot of history about these birds and how they helped catch food

This rug hanging on the wall was a gift for Queen Anne. Carpet and rugs were a luxury and it was rare to see and those who were wealthy would buy large rugs and hang them as decoration on the wall

this bed was sent to Warwick castle in 1704 by Queen Anne, she was coming for a visit and had her bed sent before hand, but her trip was canceled and the bed remained.
(wish i could send my wonderful bed where ever i visited!!)

the staff played their parts extremely well, it was awesome

oh what a cute little girl!

not sure what this was but it was in the room where they were demonstrating how they washed clothes, so i think this rung them out ?

The Rose Garden
sure wish we could have visited in the spring, would have been so beautiful

Peacocks were EVERYWHERE, he was surely not camera shy or maybe he was trying to mate with Amber!! (i guess they puff up like that to attract a mate!)

(hope you can read the sign)
one of the many torture techniques used over 100's of years ago. I can't imagine what that would be like.

That looks like so much fun. Makes me wish I were there in England.
