Cute Little Chicken Eggs

So for the past week Clinton and i have been house sitting for his parents. They have 2 dogs, a horse, and chickens so lots of stuff to take care of. Each evening i go out and collect the eggs. The past 2 days i found the smallest little eggs i have ever seen and they were so cute i couldn't help but post this. I grew up with chickens and remember going out to collect the eggs but don't remember picking eggs this small before. Its so funny how different these eggs are from the ones you buy in the grocery store. I have always been curious about how and where White eggs come from?? Do they die them white??
I am so intrigued by small and simple things!!

3 AM scare, Bored and Good News

So Monday morning we had quite a scare. Clinton had to leave for scout camp at 3 a.m. Monday morning and i had to work that day as well so he was going to take Riley to his parents house so he wouldn't be home inside all day. At 3 a.m. he wakes me up to say goodbye and off he goes with Riley. About 3:20 my phone is going off, i thought man that was fast is it 4 already (that is what time i get up for work), but nope it was Clinton calling me. Fist thing he says is "babe we have a big problem". I was half asleep but now i was awake and alert. He told me he was at the church picking up the boys and put Riley in the back of the truck to take him to the house, when he pulled up and got out Riley was not in the back of the truck. I was terrified i thought for sure he was gone, dead or hurt. He told me he drove back slowly to the church but no Riley. So they were at the church looking for him. So threw on some pants and was out the door to drive down to look on the side of the road. Then as i got in the car i said a pathetic quick prayer and 20 seconds later Clinton called me and said "we found him, but he is running so i have to go". I was relieved but still worried. I called him back a few minutes later and he was still in route and Riley just jumped into the canal around the corner from the church. Needless to say Clinton was able to get him out and he was terrified but safe. I can't believe how scared we were, this was like a child to us. You can really get attacked to your animals. Even after all was okay i was still WIDE awake and just wanted to go over and hold him. He sure did give us a scare.
Since Clinton left i have been bored because i only had to work on Monday and yesterday was home all day. With gas prices so high i usually don't go anywhere unless i absolutely have to. So Riley and I just hang out all day. It's like 150 degree's here its deathly HOT, I'm so ready for summer to be over.
We do have some good news about Clinton's job. About 3 weeks ago Clinton was offered a huge promotion with his job, they were basically bending over backwards to keep him in the company. So this means NO MORE traveling, more pay and they are working with his school schedule and even paying for school!! Pretty awesome deal if you ask me. We were very excited and felt so blessed.
Clinton is suppose to be coming home tonight. Its only been 3 days but i sure do miss him. I don't know how i did it when he was gone for 4 weeks at a time.

The New Riley

After what seemed like a long week Riley was able to get groomed and now he's looking good!Because he was so scruffy we had to cut him short. But he is much happier and very active. He still loves to cuddle and get right in your face and give kisses. It's so amazing how well he has adapted and accepted us as his new owners. Overall he is such a good dog. Earlier this week he went to the Vet for a check-up and he is NOT 10months old. Actually he is 1 maybe 2 years old. Sadly as the vet he was a little violated. He had a thermometer stuck in his bum and had his privates looked at, got a shot and was forced to swallow some nasty De-worming medicine. Poor guy was tuckered out when we got home he was ready for a nap. But the Vet was very happy and said he looked great and was such a sweet dog. He is so good, doesn't bark even when he sees other dogs and just follows me around all day. When I'm working Clinton takes him to work and the days I'm off he stays home. He loves his new soft rug
Riley give hugs and kissesHe doesn't like it when Clinton leaves for work, he would probably sit by the door all day waiting for him to come home.

WELCOME RILEY KENNEDY

Welcome to your new home Riley!!
Clinton's New best friend :) he was so happy When it comes to love I'm such a sucker!!
Welcome the newest member of our family, Riley. Clinton has been asking me for a dog since we were dating. I always said "NO". But a few weeks ago he wanted to go to the pound and "just look". I said sure i would like to do that. Well my heart melted for all those homeless dogs. I didn't care much for the dogs that were barking non-stop or those that were foaming at the mouth. But for the others i wished i could have taken them all home so they did have to spend one more night in dogie jail. We did however leave with NO dog. We talked about it for a while and in that time i gave in and said okay. So last week Clinton called a few animal shelters around to find if they had the dog I would be okay with having, a Min Schnauzer, which is what my parents have. They are great dogs, pretty easy, low maintenance, smart, and very loving, don't shed (a plus!) and just pretty good dogs all around. The Phoenix pound had one, so on Friday we drove up to Phoenix and saw little Riley and I fell in love because he looked so much like Tucker and TJ (tucker jr.) the Schnauzers that my parents have. So after a stressful hour of debating i finally decided we could take him home. It was hard to say no once the volunteer put the yellow tag on his neck which means "adopted". He put the tag on just so no one else would come along and want him while we were still deciding. I went back to take another look and couldn't bare take that tag off, he looked so happy.

Riley was a stray found on May 21,2008, he is about 10 months old. He looks so scraggly because he was homeless for a while and living on the streets was hard for him. Sadly we cant take him to the groomers for a week. He was just neutered and cant get wet. So he has to stay all stinky and dirty for another week. So far is has done very well at home and Clinton and him haven't been apart for more than a few minutes! They are currently cuddled up sleeping on the couch.
